Deborah’s monthly blog part 2
Second month in and I am really am starting to feel at home now, everyone is very friendly and my children have even helped by sending me in with some great pictures for the wall! I can’t believe how time is going so fast. Spooky October has gone and loud and colourful November is here! I love a good firework display and Worthing didn’t disappoint. It was my son’s first one this year and he loved it so much we went to the Shoreham one the following weekend too!
This month I have had some exciting meetings with clients such as Worthing Council, who have a brilliant new project we are helping them with for 2017, which should be really good for the whole Worthing community – watch this space!
Another one of the meetings we attended this month was held at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, which is a fabulous place to visit if you haven’t already been. There are lots of things to see and do here and you really do feel like you have gone back in time! http://www.wealddown.co.uk/ The meeting was with a selection of Sussex based businesses and was really interesting. Due to popular demand at the next meeting we will be providing some Social Media training for them.
I was also lucky enough to attend the Safe in Sussex Conference. Safe In Sussex is a great local charity that provides domestic abuse awareness through freedom and education – www.safeinsussex.org The Conference taught us about all the programmes they run and their new and exciting projects coming in 2017. We were also treated to Certain Curtain Theatre Company’s production called Romeo Jones while there. http://www.cctheatre.co.uk/index.html
Speaking of next year – it’s really not that far away now and I’m getting all the advertising opportunities we book for our clients lined up, talking to all the editors and making sure we get the best positions and the best rates too. It’s great getting to know so many other good local businesses. Some of our local publications are amazing sources of information and brilliant reads too. It’s vital that businesses with limited marketing spend make sure they plan it out for the year ahead. I have been amazed at the savings we have made for some of our clients simply by working in advance with our contacts.
